Use Amazon S3 in your Crisp app.
Read and write files in an S3 bucket.
Your app can upload and download files, list a bucket, make short-lived download links and read CSV, JSON and Parquet data from a bucket you own. Give the access key read permission on that bucket only, and write permission when the app uploads.
What you need.
Create the keys in your Amazon S3 account and paste them in. Each one is saved under the name shown, and your app reads it by that name.
- Bucket name
AWS_S3_BUCKET- console.aws.amazon.com, S3, Buckets. The name only, no s3:// prefix Get it
- Access key id
AWS_S3_ACCESS_KEY_ID- console.aws.amazon.com, IAM, your user, Security credentials, Create access key. A user with read (and write when needed) on this bucket only. Starts with AKIA
- Secret access key
AWS_S3_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY- Shown once when the access key is created. Pairs with the access key id
- Region optional
AWS_S3_REGION- us-east-1 when empty. Common ones are us-east-1, us-east-2, us-west-2, ca-central-1, eu-west-1, eu-west-2, eu-central-1, ap-south-1, ap-southeast-1, ap-southeast-2, ap-northeast-1, sa-east-1
How to connect.

Open your project, or start a new one from the dashboard.

Open the workspace menu and choose Connectors, then pick Amazon S3.

Paste the keys and save. Your preview restarts, and your app can use the service from then on.

What happens to your keys.
- Each key is saved as a private setting of your project, under the name shown above.
- The AI that builds your app sees only the names. It writes code that reads each key by name, and never the value.
- The values reach your preview and your published app, and never the chat, the code or the logs.
- Open Connectors in your project to replace a key or disconnect the service. Publish again so your live app uses the change.
