Use Gmail in your Crisp app.
Read, send and organise mail in a Gmail account.
People sign in with their Google account and your app can list their inbox, read threads, send replies, add labels and watch for new messages. The same Google Cloud OAuth client can be reused for every Google connector.
What you need.
Sign in with your Gmail account in a new window and choose what your app may do. Crisp keeps the sign-in and hands your app a fresh token whenever it needs one, so no key is ever pasted or stored in your app.
- Know who signed in always
- See your email address always
- Read all email messages and settings always
- Send email messages
- Create, read, update, and delete drafts, and send messages
- Read, send, delete, and manage email (all except permanent delete)
- Create, read, update, and delete labels
- Read email metadata (labels, headers, not body)
- Insert and import email messages
- Manage basic email settings
Prefer your own Gmail app? Paste its client id and secret instead, and your app runs the sign-in itself on your own pages:
- Client id
GMAIL_CLIENT_ID- console.cloud.google.com, Credentials, OAuth client (one client serves every Google connector). Ends with .apps.googleusercontent.com
- Client secret
GMAIL_CLIENT_SECRET- The same OAuth client. Starts with GOCSPX-
How to connect.
-
Open your project, or start a new one from the dashboard.
-
Open the workspace menu and choose Connectors, then pick Gmail.
-
Choose what your app may do and press Connect. You approve it with Gmail in a new window, and your app can use the service from then on.
Then ask for the feature
- “Show my unread mail from clients in one list”
- “Send a follow-up email from my Gmail after a call”
- “Turn emails with invoices into expense rows”
What happens to your keys.
- Each key is saved as a private setting of your project, under the name shown above.
- The AI that builds your app sees only the names. It writes code that reads each key by name, and never the value.
- The values reach your preview and your published app, and never the chat, the code or the logs.
- Open Connectors in your project to replace a key or disconnect the service. Publish again so your live app uses the change.
Service names and logos belong to their owners; Crisp is not affiliated with them. A service changes its keys and pages now and then. Found something out of date? Tell us and we will correct it.
Ask for the feature, and Crisp builds it with Gmail.
